    A small temple hall built on a tiny island off the Matsushima coast, which is connected to the mainland by a short wooden pedestrian bridge. Due to its prominent location, it has become a symbol of Matsushima.

    Mt. Zao*
    Take a cable car to Jizo Sancho Station at the summit of Mt. Zao. Skiers and tourists use these lines to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the mountain.

    Yamagata Railway Flower Nagai Line
    A themed train that speeds across the silver-white landscape, with each train having its own unique theme that is both eye-catching and full of life. Enjoy the magnificent snow scenery along the way. The train will pass through 15 stations in about 40 minutes before finally arriving at Miyauchi Station.
     
    Kumano Shrine
    With a history of over 1200 years, this shrine houses a famous god who helps people find their soulmates. Its main deities are a male and female god, who are said to be the first gods in Japan to have proposed and gotten married with each other. There is also another legend that if one can find three engraved rabbits behind the main hall, their wishes will come true.
     
    Aoba Castle
    A historical fortress in Sendai known for its unique architecture, an observatory with panoramic views, and cultural significance as a symbol of resilience and strength.
     
    Ichibancho Street
    This district is famous among the citizens of Sendai. Izakaya (Japanese pubs), coffee shops and fruit stores are available here.
